Our pathway to Success
We understand that remodeling your home can be a daunting task. Many contractors will tell you about their tried-and-true process for a "stress-free" experience. That's sounds great, but they're not the ones trying to get everyone out the door in the morning without a kitchen or primary bath! A new custom home may sound easier, but there is something uniquely stressful about starting from a blank slate. Residential construction can be a bit of an emotional roller coaster, especially if you've never been through it before. We'll be there to guild you through it from start to finish. Here is a brief outline of our process, along with some tips to help you get started.
Pre-Process
Deciding to build a new home or remodeling your existing home can be incredibly exciting. Take a moment to reflect before making that first call. Knowing the answers to these questions will help your design and construction teams come up with solutions to meet your specific needs.
What are the main objectives of this project?
When is the best time to start a remodel?
How involved do you want to be with the project?
How much can you afford to spend?
How long do you plan to stay in the house?
Preconstruction
Contract
Preconstruction is where most of the magic really happens. During this phase we dig deep into all the details seen and unseen. We'll work with you or your design team to get you accurate pricing on different options, so there are no surprises down the road (we hate change orders too!) The goal is to develop a detailed set of plans, selections, scope and schedule prior to creating the construction contract.
Punchout & Warranty
Move in day is probably the most exciting parts of any project. At that point we'll step away for a couple weeks to give you a chance to press every button and open every drawer. When you're ready we'll come back to put together a final punch list.
Notice something after punchout? No problem, just give us a call. We strive to always take care of our clients, even after the warranty expires.
Initial Consultation
The first step is to arrange a meeting to walk the site and discuss your needs. We'll ask a lot of questions to try to understand your preferences and style. If possible, we'll give you an estimated price range immediately. The main objective of this meeting is to give you as much information as possible so you can start making informed decisions early on in the design process.
Construction
Isn't this pretty self-explanatory?
During the final preconstruction meeting we'll talk through items such as working hours, access to the house, and what we can do to minimize disruptions to others in the home. We prefer to have a standing meeting at least once or twice a month throughout the project just to make sure the project is on track and any minor issues are resolved immediately.
